Fukuoka-Based Deep Tech Startup FAERO Launches to Accelerate Aerospace Design and Simulation
OCTOBER 15, 2026
Deep tech startup company FAERO launched its developing technology NEXUS, a next-generation platform for design and simulation of aerospace systems, which aims to reduce development time and costs by up to 25%.

FUKUOKA, JAPAN — FAERO, an aerospace technology startup based in Fukuoka, Japan, launched its business today which focused on accelerating the design and simulation of aerospace systems. Founded by Pidot Javier, Michiko Hamada, and Hideaki Ogawa, PhD, the company begins its operations with JPY 22 million in capital.
“Five years ago, when I first started running simulations, my computer would frequently crash because of the heavy computational load. This wasted a lot of valuable time for data gathering. I later realized that similar challenges exist on a much larger scale, even in major research institutions and companies, and that they continue to this day. That is the problem I want to solve,” said Pidot Javier, FAERO Co-Founder.
At the core of FAERO's technology is NEXUS, a next-generation platform being developed for aerospace design and simulation. It enables advanced engineering capabilities, including massive design exploration, faster simulations, and automated optimization.
With NEXUS, engineers can start with a single baseline design and, with one click of the ‘Run’ button, evaluate more than 1,000 design variations. Finally, the platform identifies the promising optimized configurations automatically. This technology aims to reduce aerospace development time and costs by up to 25%.
NEXUS builds on the technology of the Ogawa Nexus platform, developed by FAERO Co-Founder Hideaki Ogawa, PhD. The platform integrates advanced techniques, including deep learning, matamodeling, and global optimization techniques. It also has been technically validated through peer-reviewed scientific publications. This enables the innovative technical capabilities of the platform.
FAERO operates under a business-to-business software-as-a-service (B2B SaaS) model. The startup initially is targeting the aerospace industry, and over time, aims to expand into automotive engineering, structural design, and renewable energy industries. It also envisionsd to extending its reach from Japan to international markets.
Michiko Hamada, FAERO Co-Founder, said, “Japan has built a global reputation for technological innovation, even with limited resources. Similarly, FAERO began with limited resources too. That mindset drives us to pursue ambitious goals and create meaningful technological and business impact. Also, in spite of the limitations as a startup, I have always believed in one important principle: ‘Never say can't’.”

FAERO's Founders
FAERO brings together expertise in aerospace engineering, scientific research, business development, and creative disciplines.
Pidot Javier — Co-Founder
Pidot Javier is a young aerospace engineer who earned his Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering at Kyushu University (Japan). He is a former educator, science communicator, and musician, with strong skills in leadership and creativity. At FAERO, he contributes to the company's vision, technology development, and business growth strategy.
Michiko Hamada — Co-Founder
Michiko Hamada is an successful businesswoman with nearly 30 years of business experience. She founded ItoStar, a startup support center, and Tabinet Japan Saito, a travel agency. She has profound skills in business operations and management. At FAERO, her expertise guides the company's business development and growth.
Hideaki Ogawa, PhD — Co-Founder
Hideaki Ogawa, PhD, is an expert in aerospace research with over 30 years of research experience. He pursued graduate studies at the University of Tokyo (Japan), Stanford University (USA), and the University ofCambridge (UK). He is currently a visiting professor in Oxford University (UK) and is affiliated with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). At FAERO, he pioneered the development of company's core technology.
Together, the founding team combines technical expertise and entrepreneurial experience to advance FAERO's vision for more efficient engineering design and simulation.
Open for Project Collaborations and Investment
FAERO is seeking to expand its market presence and further validate its technology through collaborations with aerospace manufacturers, engineering companies, and research institutions. These partnerships will help the company address industry needs and advance the practical application of its technology.
The company is also engaging with venture capital firms and strategic investors in Japan and internationally to support further technology development and commercial expansion. Following its launch with JPY 22 million in initial capital, FAERO is preparing for its seed funding round to support continued platform development, technical validation, and business growth.
